Solidaridad internacional con la UNTYPP.

Como muestra del trabajo y la solidaridad con trabajadores del mundo, ha empezado ha circular este mensaje que fue enviado a la Presidencia de la República, por parte de la United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) (Trabajadores Unidos de la Electricidad, Radio y Máquinas de América), para pedir el cese del hostigamiento contra los miembros de la Untypp. Ponemos la versión en inglés y luego la traducción.

We are writing to you on behalf of the tens of thousands of U.S. workers who are members of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) to express our concern about the violations of labor and human rights directed at members and officers of UNIÓN NACIONAL DE TÉCNICOS Y PROFESIONISTAS PETROLEROS” (UNTyPP).

On December 16, UNTyPP received its registro, number 5878, from Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare’s office for the Registration of Associations (STPS). Since that date, we have been informed that PEMEX has been summoning the members of UNTyPP whose names were included on the documents presented to the STPS, one by one, and informing them that in order to retain their employment they had to sign two documents: a resignation from the union and a request that the UNTyPP be dissolved. Those who refused were fired and violently removed from their workstations by paramilitaries.

The violation of labor rights alone would be of concern. However, the situation has been aggravated by a series of actions including those referenced above, the presence of cars without license plates lurking outside of the homes of union leaders in the State of Tabasco, the refusal to provide medical treatment for cancer to a woman leader, discharges and forced retirements, along with physical acts, psychological torture and death threats directed against leaders since the time they first sought registration of their union.

For these reasons we urgently request your intervention in order that:

1. Petróleos Mexicanos respect the lives and physical integrity of the leaders of UNTyPP, along with their rights of freedom of association and collective bargaining as established by the Federal Labor Law and ILO Conventions 87 and 135 de la OIT, and that it cease the campaign of aggression and intimidation against UNTYPP, including the discharges.

Estimado Presidente Calderón,

Nos dirigimos a usted en nombre de las decenas de miles de trabajadores de EE.UU. que son miembros de la United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) para expresar nuestra preocupación por las violaciónes de los derechos laborales y humanos dirigido a miembros y funcionarios de la "Unión Nacional de Técnicos y Profesionistas petroleros "(UNTyPP).

El 16 de diciembre, la UNTyPP recibió su registro, número 5878, de la Dirección General de Registro de Asociaciones de la Secretaría de Trabajo y Prevención Social (STPS). Desde esa fecha, nos han informado de que Pemex ha estado llamando a los miembros de UNTyPP cuyos nombres fueron incluidos en los documentos presentados a la STPS, uno por uno, y les informa que a fin de conservar su empleo tienen que firmar dos documentos: una renuncia al sindicato y otra solicitud para que se disuelva la UNTyPP. Los que se negaron fueron despedidos y sacados violentamente de sus puestos de trabajo por los paramilitares.

La violación de los derechos laborales por sí sóla sería motivo de preocupación. Sin embargo, la situación se ha agravado por una serie de acciones, incluidas las mencionadas anteriormente, por la presencia de automóviles sin placas, al acecho afuera de las casas de los dirigentes sindicales en el Estado de Tabasco, la negativa para proporcionar tratamiento médico para el cáncer a una mujer líder, despidos y retiros forzados, junto con los actos físicos, torturas psicológicas y amenazas de muerte contra sus líderes desde el primer momneto en que buscaron el registro de su sindicato.

Por estas razones es urgente solicitar su intervención para que:

1. Petróleos Mexicanos respete la vida y la integridad física de los líderes de UNTyPP, junto con sus derechos de libertad de asociación y de la negociación colectiva establecido por la Ley Federal del Trabajo y la OIT Convenios 87 y 135 de la OIT, y que cese la campaña de la agresión y la intimidación contra UNTYPP, incluidos los despidos.
